Video: Aviation wasn’t meant to be Disneyland.

“The problem was simple: after 30 years of marketing the ‘Disneyland’ clean cut appearance of safety, we now had a generation of aviators who could no longer distinguish the appearance of safety from actually having safety, and these people’s conditioned taste for ‘Disneyland’ precluded coverage of actual grass roots events.”

Here is the latest video in the “Thought for the Day” video series.

The story covers an aspect of the m’marketing’ of Experimental Aviation, where certain groups have tried to clean up aviation “Image” . Personal, I have been training people to be better aviators, not just look like AOPA’s idea of the approved image of pilots.

About William Wynne
I have been continuously building, testing and flying Corvair engines since 1989. Information, parts and components that we developed and tested are now flying on several hundred Corvair powered aircraft. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Professional Aeronautics and an A&P license from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and have a proven 20 year track record of effectively teaching homebuilders how to create and fly their own Corvair powered planes. Much of this is chronicled at and in more than 50 magazine articles.
