Copperstate Fly in Feb. 6-9, Buckeye AZ.

Builders,

If you are looking for a setting in the south west to learn more about Corvairs and the people who select them for their homebuilts, head to the 2020 Copperstate Fly in this coming weekend. Larry Nelson will be on hand with his Corvair powered Zenith 601HDS- TD giving forums. He has a supply of my manuals and information. He is a good friend, and acts as my representative at west coast events I can’t make it to.

Larry will be giving forums on both Corvairs and oil analysis. You can read about his work here: Corvair Oil Analysis

Above is a video we made about using Larrys Oil analysis expertise on Corvair engines. It’s educational and well worth watching. Larry also has his own YouTube Channel about flying his Zenith:

Yes, Larry is the Zenith builder who paid me for his engine parts in ammunition. I wrote this story about it: Acceptable methods of payment for Corvair parts , and it went viral in 2015, being the most read story I wrote that year.  Truth be told, shooting is just one facet of Larry’s life, he is a solid family man first, an aviator, a very skilled technical man working at the Yuma Proving Grounds, our nations premier mechanical test facility. He is a friendly and intelligent person, and I rarely exit a conversation with him without having learned something new.

  1. Had the chance to talk with Larry at length and came away with tons of great ideas. Our West-MEC booth was right next to his so I had quick access when I had a question for Larry.
